Laguna de La cocha - Colombia

Laguna de La Cocha - Colombian Paradise

Have been immensely rewarding the beautiful experiences in my time in the city of Pasto, City through which I could have easy access and proximity to many wonders of nature, which gives me great joy to share with all colleagues of this website and be able to do feel envious... of the good.

The Cocha lagoon or lake Guamuez, as it is also known is a natural water reserve glacial origin, is the second hostel largest natural water in the country and is considered the most important international lake located in the Department and in the Andean region of our country. This marvel Colombian is about more or less 35 minutes by road from the city of Pasto, and has an altitude of 2,800 meters, is surrounded by lush vegetation and fauna where several species of birds and fish, is surrounded mountains and surrounds the eastern slope Knot Grass, its length is approximately an area of over 40 km ² and a length of 25 km, the waters of different climate house a maximum depth of 75 m, with beautiful contours in form of islands and lush vegetation in the lagoon as other tributaries converge Encano river, giving also housed waters Guamuez and Putumayo rivers.

It also has two islands, the largest is called The Corota, where you can walk in a good atmosphere, a quiet and peaceful ecological trail Flora and fauna, called El Quiche with a length of 550 meters, where there is abundant canopy vegetation vast and lush, called the roof of the sky, along with about 500 species of birds.

Around the lake there are a large number of nature reserves in the care of individuals and locals that enhance the benefits of the lagoon and the region, communities that live there live Tourism Region and trout fishing activities, which also commercialized and offered to tourists at various local restaurants, but sadly the access roads to this stunning book lacks the necessary adjustments for a nice reach and not care and Municipal Government to promote and foster the visit to this natural wonder and foreign ownership.

For me, Laguna de la Cocha is a major source of income for its inhabitants, which converge and settle numerous seafood sites and transporters who bring and return to different places nourished visitors to the site, the main route Borough access Encano the shores of the lagoon these days which is overflowing and flooding in the winter and are doing unattractive unpaved site visit, as always is sad that in our country with such wealth is not promote awareness of our treasures and only corruption, hunger and politicking, are negative factors that govern our present and future, with the forgiveness of themselves, region, department, these phenomena never overshadow the wonders natural that allows us to live our beautiful Colombia.

The area around the lake offer food and lodging services, where the houses stand in wood, of considerable attraction for tourists, despite the climate in the area, which is usually quite cold and cloudy, smoked trout and other gastronomic delights invite visitors to taste, this dish typical of the place. I wish to share my opinion of the place as an invitation to know the most beautiful scenery and landscapes of our country, the Laguna de la Cocha, another majestic natural beauty and stunning water reservoir, located in the Municipality of Encano, department of Nariño, southwest of Colombia.
